Spherical cityscapes

The main themes Irina Drozd explores are amongst others childhood, holiday, city and social environment. There is unity and a struggle of opposites present in these topics from positive images of children to the destructive force of weapons.
In this particular series, Irina Drozd depicts another dimension of the typical postcard views of St. Petersburg. The cities celebrated landmarks are deserted, timeless and enchanted in a dreamlike sphere. Represented though molecular crystalline formations and glowing mist, an otherwise invisible dimension materializes – fascinating and frightening alike.
